Progress So Far:

1998	$87 million donated to The Salvation Army by Joan Kroc to build and endow the first Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in San Diego
June, 2002	Salvation Army San Diego Ray and Joan Kroc Center opens
January, 2004	Salvation Army receives $1.5 billion bequest from Joan Kroc
Spring 2005	Request for Proposal(RFP) released from Eastern Territorial Headquarters of The Salvation Army in New York. 29 communities participate in RFP competition from Maine to Kentucky and Puerto Rico.
Summer 2005	The Salvation Army partners with Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative and begins to discuss plans for a possible community center in Uphams Corner, a longtime dream of residents.
Sep 30, 2005	RFP submitted to Salvation Army Eastern Territorial Headquarters. $79.5 million requested for capital and endowment.
Jan 6, 06	Boston awarded one of 8 Kroc Centers in Northeastern US. $85.5 million from Kroc Trust for capital and endowment awarded. 7 other centers awarded: Staten Island, NY; Messina, NY; Camden, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Ashland, OH; Dayton, OH; Puerto Rico
Jan-Feb, 06	The Salvation Army in Boston forms a Kroc Committee to begin planning for the new center
Feb 6, 06	RFP Phase II begins with milestones set: March 31 Development Plan; May 31 Program Plan; July 31 Sustainability Plan; September 30 Design Plan (site control required).
