The Salvation Army Boston Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center will truly be a center for everyone. With programs, such as daycare, that will serve the very young through programs for our elders to build friendships and enjoy recreation, the entire community of Boston will find something in which to take part at the Kroc Center.

Vision Statement
A Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center consists of facilities and programs of superb quality that provide children, youth, families and individuals with spiritual, educational, recreational, arts and other activities that build character, confidence, capacity and hope. The Center includes facility and program components that are directly responsive to the assessed needs and desires of the community in which it is located, and is a beacon of hope and an agent of change in that community.

The Uphams Dudley neighborhood has a compelling need for community space and programs which serve members of the community at all stages of life, and which welcomes people from all cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds and provides a beacon of hope to the Urban Village. The Kroc Center has the opportunity to be a unique facility free from social inaccessibility and a bridge to unite groups within the neighborhood and neighborhood to neighborhood. To truly build one community from the many different threads which exist, space and programs will be provided that celebrate cultural diversity; and that bring together all members of the community to share recreational, educational, and religious and social services.

The Salvation Army will continue to do in this community what it does throughout the United States and around the world in 111 countries - to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human need in His name without discrimination. The Boston Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides a platform for numerous services to be provided to the community. Some of these programs and services are routinely associated with The Salvation Army like food and utility assistance for families in need. Quietly and perhaps with less notoriety, in all of its centers, the Army provides programming that supports the health and wellbeing of the whole community from the very young through the elders. In the Kroc Center, those programs and services will have state of the art facilities so that participants can thrive and grow. The Kroc gift also provides the avenue for areas of service that are newer to The Salvation Army, like swim lessons and formal dance training. Whether it be in traditional program areas or in new adaptations, the Kroc Center will, like all Salvation Army service provision, be open to all regardless of race, age or religious belief.
